Case Study

Hipped Roof to a Gable construction

The client's objective in this instance was to convert the loft into a permemant living space. It was determined that the best way to maximise the volume of the loft space was to reconfigure the existing hipped roof construction into a Gable. This would entail removing all existing roof coverings and then extending the rafters and ridge line out to form a gable construction. The newly formed structural opening was then closed off with new block work and render. A series of roof windows were installed as a means to afford natural light to the new living space.
